Transplanting reeds from one brand/model may or may not work well.
The reeds may be close in size, but a tiny bit too sml and it will leak air around the edges, which will affect both tone and response. Too big and you'll need to file the edges down to fit.
Then there's the matter of the reed pad - the squarish bit on the end that the rivet goes through. These may not be the same size or shape, and the rivets may differ considerably in size and hole location. You can mame the rivet hole in the reedplate bigger, but then you're stuck with it. And if the hole location on the reed (distance from free-end tip) is different, you'll either need to drill a new hole in the reedplate or deal with having either a reed that works out being too short or too long for the slot once you line up the rivet holes.
I'd leave this as an experiment to be done with junker reedplates. If the right reeds are available and you're already used to replacing reeds, using them is likely to be less trouble and to give better results.
My two cents, anyway.

After I sent that reply to thank Winslow, I had a thought. As well as the
Hering 14 hole, I've got one of the cheaper Hering 5148s which has got a
dead E on the middle octave. I've just ordered some replacement single
reeds and windsavers for my CX12 from Harponline (I'm used to replacing
individual reeds on my diatonics), would I be right in thinking that i can use
one of the CX12 reeds on the Hering? I've only got a kid's school ruler
but I did a crude bit of measuring and it looked as if I could.
It would be a nice little pocket harp to sneak down the quiet bit of the beach
with during my lunchbreak I thought
